Let the iron stay in a low steam setting over the towel. After about 15 minutes you will find that the towel soaks up the entire stain. Repeat the same process on any other stains too which you might find on the carpet. This will help you get rid of stain completely.

Plug you iron in the nearest switchboard where your carpet lies. Make sure to keep it on a low setting however.
